The Best Schools In Hong Kong!

Education system in Hong Kong is based on the UK system.  And it is governed by the Education Bureau and the Social Welfare Department.

There are so many international Schools in Hong Kong. They can be the perfect solution for an expat student. So it can be a difficult process to narrow down  choices. Factors to consider includes the education style, the campus and its facilities.

1. American International School

 

Type: Kindergarten, primary and secondary.

Curriculum: AP courses in high school

Languages: Putonghua for Pre-K through Grade 8 and Putonghua, French and Spanish for Grades 9-12

When to apply: Earliest in July.

Campus and facilities: The red-brick campus on Waterloo Road is home of 885 students. American International School has undertaken projects including Makerspace for student exhibitions. As well as programmes in Engineering and Design, Visual and Performing Arts. Facilities also include indoor and outdoor sports.

 

2-Australian International School

 

Type: Both Primary and secondary

Curriculum: Primary school: It based on the Australian National Curriculum.

Secondary school: New South Wales Higher School Certificate.

Languages: English and Putonghua offered to primary school and French or Putonghua offered in New South Wales Higher School Certificate

When to apply: Reception to Year 10: Anytime.

Year 11: Applications only accepted before the first term of school.

Campus and facilities: Green Roof is a multi-use educational platform.  Here students learn about the environment related issues. The Aquatic Centre houses a 25m heated swimming pool.

The Outdoor Field features a synthetic turf surface and four-lane running track.

3-English Schools Foundation

Type: Primary: Beacon Hill School • Bradbury School • Clearwater Bay School • Glenealy School •

Secondary: Island School • King George V School • Sha Tin College and  • South Island School •

Curriculum: IB MYP, IBCP, IB Diploma, GCSE or IGCSE and BTEC.

Languages: English with dual-languages.

When to apply: K1, Year 1 and Year 7: Application is open from September 1 to 30 of the year before. All year groups: Applications can be made anytime during the year so will be added to wait lists.

Campus and facilities: All locations have superb facilities with upgrades.

4- Canadian International School

Type: Primary and secondary type.

Curriculum: IB PYP, IB MYP and IB Diploma.

Languages: English and Putonghua taught. French and Spanish are also available.

When to apply: Grade 1-2: starts early October.
Grade 3-11: starts late January.

Campus and facilities: The Canadian International School  campus measures 450,000sqfs. It is across 14 levels and is equipped with art facilities. These also provide an ideal learning environment.

5-Chinese International School

Type: Primary and secondary both.

Languages: English and Putonghua both.

Curriculum: Primary: Chinese International School (CIS) uses  innovative approach in English and Chinese .

When to apply: For Year 1 to 6: From September 1 to February 28.

For Year 7-13: From September 1 to entry.
