How to apply for a visa for Albania?

To apply for a visa for Albania, you need to reach out to the nearest embassy or consulate in your region. The visa process may depend on various things like the country from which you belong to. There are some countries whose citizens do not need a visa to visit Albania. Although the tenure of your stay may vary as per your passport.

  • The visa application form must submit.
  • One passport-sized photograph
  • That is no longer than six months from the date of request.
  • Photocopy of a valid travel document.
  •  Traveling health insurance
  •  For children under the age of 18: a declaration indicating the child’s parent or legal guardian
  • An invitation from the host.

Types Of Visas-

Visa Form “C” –

  • A short-term visa is given to foreigners who wish to join the Republic of Albania.
  • And are also allowed to remain for the most duration.
  • That is of 90 days from a period of 180 days, from their first entry date.
  • This form of visa is issued with one, two, or more entries.

Visa Type “D” –

  • A long-term visa is given to foreigners.
  • Who wish to remain in Albania for more than 90 days.
  • Within 180 days and also to foreign nationals.
  • Who may also wish to obtain a Residency Permit after entering the Republic of Albania.
  • This form of visa is granted on one, two, or more entries.
Excluded from presenting themselves in person  at the Albanian Embassy or Consulate: 
  • Diplomatic passport holders; 
  • Situations related to humanity; 
  • High-ranking officials (personalities), their accompanying spouses, and accompanying official visiting delegation; 
  • visitor with royal title and other Royal Family members on official visits; 
  • Foreigners grouped into groups of tourists; 
  • Foreigners who have applied for visa  

E-Visa Albania

It is an electronic authorization printed in electronic form. This visa is generated with an electronic stamp and emailed to the applicant. It eliminates the requirement for the applicant to physically appear at the Republic of Albania’s Diplomatic / Consular Representations.

Albania’s government manages the e-Visa application procedure, which can be completed entirely online. During the e-Visa application procedure, keep the following in mind:

  • Applicants must provide biographical information to be considered.
  • They will also be asked questions concerning their eligibility for the VWP.
  • People who have dual citizenship should choose their country based on the passport they will use for travel.
  • Children who do not yet require their ticket to travel must obtain Travel Authorization.

Exemption of Visa

Visa exemption to visit and remain in the Republic of Albania for up to 90 days in 180 days.

  1. It is valid for the foreign nationals holding a valid multiple entrance Schengen visa. With the exception that the visa must have been used before in one of the Schengen nations. Persons with a valid residency permit in one of the Schengen countries.
  2. It is valid for foreign nationals having a valid multiple entry visa or a valid residency permit issued by the USA. The United Kingdom, or Northern Ireland with the proviso, that the visa issued was before used in the issued country.
  3. When foreign nationals traveling with a spouse who is an EU citizen have a valid passport and another document (i.e. a residency permit) that states their status as “family member,” they are referred to as “family members.”
  4. Foreigners who have been granted a 10-year residence visa by the United Arab Emirates government, are valid for at least one year from the date of admission.

Do I need a separate visa to enter Albania, if I have a Schengen visa?

No, if your visit is restricted to 90 days, you will not require a visa to enter the country. Additionally, holders of a visa for the United States or the United Kingdom would not require a new visa.

What is the Best Time to Apply?

The best time to apply for a visa to Albania is 1-2 months before your travel date.
Even so, if you are low on time. There is also the option of managing your visa on a more expedited basis at the Embassy.
