Step by Step guide on how to apply for eVisa.
Step 1
Visit eVisa from the Republic of Kenya and click on create an eVisa account. This is the online government platform to apply for a Kenyan visa.
- Select Department of Immigration services once you’ve logged in.
- Select the option to submit an application.
- Choose a Kenyan visa.
- Choose a visa type and carefully read the instructions.
Step 2
Fill in the application form. Pay using a visa card, credit card, and other debit cards. Await approval via email. Then download and print the eVisa from your eCitizen account. Present your printed eVisa to the immigration officer at the port of entry.

Do I need a visa for Kenya?
Most countries in the world need an e-visa to come to Kenya. Some countries, mainly in Eastern and Southern Africa, don’t need a visa.

Requirements for visa application in Kenya
To apply for a Kenyan visa, you’ll need the following items. Attachment depending on the purpose of the visit is as follows:
For guests
- Return flight tickets for travel agents or airlines.
- The flight ticket shows the date, departure point, arrival, and flight number. Sometimes they need a return ticket to your country of residence. Please ask your airline for more information.
- Hotel booking confirmation
Business Travel
- Letter from the company / Invitation letter for business visit
- Copy card of company ID of the person who signed the invitation letter
- Copy of registration or company inclusion certificate
Family Visits
- Letter of invitation from family or friends.
- Identity Card / Passport / Alien Card / Administrator’s Permission
- Return flight tickets from travel agents or airlines. Those are showing the date, departure point, arrival, and flight number.

Single entry visa
If your nationality requires a visa to enter Kenya, you can get a single-entry visa or multiple-entry visa. These are both for business and for tourism. With a single entry visa, you can only visit Kenya once for sightseeing or short-term business. The three-month visa enables re-entry into Kenya from Tanzania and Uganda.
Transit visa
You might need to transit through Kenya when you are traveling somewhere else. If your nationality requires a visa to transit Kenya, you can get a transit visa for not more than three days. You are only
allowed to stay for 72 hours on a transit visa. A transit visa is only valid for one trip. You do not need a transit visa when you are within the international transit region. That means that you arrive at Jomo Kenyatta Airport on an international flight. And then you leave from Jomo Kenyatta Airport on an international flight.
Diplomatic visa
Visas for diplomatic, official, service, and courtesy are available. You need a diplomatic, official, or service passport from the relevant organizations. As well you need formal communication or note verbale. It is free for official activities.
Multiple entry visa
Intended for frequent tourists, especially businesses, who visit Kenya on a regular basis. They have 6 months or one-year validity. Nairobi’s Director of Immigration Services receives these applications for review. The entire procedure takes 1 to 2 weeks. That includes permission from Nairobi’s Immigration Headquarters.
You can travel around Tanzania, Uganda, and Kenya for tourism or business with one visa. You can apply for a single entry visa, it will allow you to re-enter Kenya without acquiring a new entry visa.

East Africa tourist visa is $ 101.
How long does it take to get a visa for Kenya?
If you indicate on the Kenya visa application form that you intend to come within a month. Your application will be processed immediately once it is filed online. On average, it takes 8 days for the application to be approved. It takes on average 4 workdays with an urgent application. As soon as your visa is issued, you can go to Kenya. After the visa is authorized, you must arrive in Kenya within 3 months of the approval date. Thus Your trip may take place several weeks before or after the arrival date you provided.
