Coming to the US visa, it is also a bit hard or complex procedure to get it. Although you may get the tourist visa much easier if you wish to visit the US for a short span of time. So, let’s discuss what are the basic steps that you need to follow to get a US visa from Afghanistan. You may also apply for a US visa from the US embassy on Afghanistan’s official website.
US Visa procedure
Check for the validation of your passport
Unless exempted from country-specific accords, your passport has to be valid for at least six months beyond the time you remain in the United States. Each person requiring a visa should submit a separate application if more than one person is listed in your passport. You may check the list for the exempted countries here.

Please note that on the application forms, you must answer each question. Please put “None” if you have a response to a question (Do not leave it blank). Incorrect form(s) are returned and a new interview appointment is required.
An important thing to consider! Many US visa applicants improperly fill out the DS-160 and get their visa process postponed resulting in the late scheduling dates for the visa interview.
Collect all the relevant documents
For the visa survey, just the passport, the confirmation sheet DS-160 and the photograph with a colour size of 2 x 2 inches no older than 6 months are necessary. If you are qualified, more papers may be asked to identify. For instance, extra papers needed might include proof of:
- Your intention to leave the U.S.
- Reason for your visit
- capacity to cover the whole expense of the trip.
Note: Visas applicants must qualify, instead of insurance from US families and friends, on the base of the applicant’s residency and links abroad. A non-immigrant tourist visa is not required by a letter of invitation or by an affidavit. Get your interview scheduled and submit your documents

At the time of the interview, present your confirmed DS-160 form, a 2 x 2″ (2″) coloured image and a valid passport at the time of the interview.
Final Interview with visa Consular Officer and pay your fees
The following non-reimbursable visa application expenses are paid on the day of your interview: 160 dollars on non-immigratory visas B-1 (Business) and B-2 (Tourism & Visitation); 190 dollars on visas H, L, O, P, Q and R, and 270 dollars on visas E.
