How to get a work visa for Denmark?

Denmark, officially the Kingdom of Denmark, is a Nordic country. Denmark proper, which is the southernmost of the Scandinavian countries. Depending on your travel to Denmark, different types of visas will apply to the occasion. Whether you are planning to go on a visit, study, or work and reside in Denmark permanently, you will have to apply for a different Schengen Visa, accordingly.

You need a visa for Denmark for business, personal visits, or tourism if you are:

• May not a citizen of a Nordic country
• Not a citizen of an EU/EAA country

How to get a work visa for Denmark?

The following list of documents are required to obtain a Denmark visa:

• Download the application form, fill it, and with sincerity. You can also fill the Denmark Schengen Visa application form electronically and then print a hard-copy.

• Your passport and copies of your previous visas – valid for at least three months beyond return date – are required. Your access must have at least two blank pages.
• Travel health insurance confirmation of minimum 30,000 € coverage within Denmark and the entire Schengen area

• Flight Itinerary with dates and flight numbers specifying entry and exit from Denmark

• Proof of civil status (marriage certificate, birth certificate of children, death certificate of spouse, ration card if applicable)
• Means of subsistence – Proof of sufficient financial means for the period of stay in Denmark

Danish Work Visas and Permits: Process and Requirements for Application

For all types of work visas, some requirements are standard. Through SIRI, applications are made online.

Step One: Create an ID for a Case Order

You will be asked to create a case order ID once you have selected the type of visa that best fits your work situation. The application is entirely submitted by your employer for some types of tickets. For this, by filling in the power of attorney form, you will need to hand them what is known as attorney power.

Step Two: Pay the Fee for Visa

Annually, all applications are processed. Ensure that you create the case order ID and pay the fee in the same year to avoid your application problems.

Most Danish work visas cost DKK 3,025 (US$ 445).

Step Three: Submit documents required

You will be asked to submit the documents below:

• Proof that by attaching the receipt, you have paid the visa fee
• Your passport copy, all pages included, front cover, and back cover.
• Fully completed Form for Power of Attorney
• An employment contract or job offer that includes information about you, your salary, terms of employment, and job description (can not be more than 30 days old)
• Educational degrees and qualifications that demonstrate that you are qualified for the role
• Danish authorization (e.g., for regulated professions such as doctors, lawyers, etc.) if required for the job position.

Step Four: Submit the Application Form for a work visa.

Depending on your employment, the type of job visa application form you will need depends on your work. The most prevalent ones are:

The AR1 online: both the employee and the employer fill out this electronic form. For this type of structure, the first part must be filled in by your employer. A password is then generated, which should be passed to you by your employer so that you can complete the second part of the form.

The online AR6: this form is filled out entirely by an employer that has been given attorney power.

Step Five: Taking your biometrics

Within 14 days of submitting your application, this must be done. During a Danish diplomatic mission abroad, you must have your photo taken and your fingerprints recorded.

Step Six: Wait for an answer.

Generally, within 30 days, you will be informed of the outcome of your application. This response should take less time, typically around ten days, for some work visa types, such as the Fast-Track Visa.

If employed:

• Employment contract
• Current bank statement of the latest six months
• Leave permission from the employer
• Income Tax Return (ITR) form or Certificate of Income Tax deducted at the source of salary

If self-employed:

• A copy of your business license
• Company bank statement of the latest six months
• Income Tax Return (ITR)

If a student:

• Proof of enrollment
• No-objection certificate from school or university

*Note: The signed application form must be accompanied by the rest of the above-mentioned mandatory documents and handed personally at the appropriate embassy/consulate or its representative in your home country.

There are two types of Schengen Visa provided by the Denmark government.

• Short Term Visa: Short Term Visa is provided when you want to visit Denmark for a short period, and you are a citizen of a country with a visa requirement; you must have a visa. A visa typically grants you the right to stay in the entire Schengen region for up to 90 days. If you wish to stay in Denmark for a longer time, you must apply for a residence permit.
• Long term Visa: Long Term Visa is provided when you want to visit Denmark for an extended period, and you are a citizen of a country with a visa requirement; you must have a visa.
